The Apology I Never Got

1 artwork

The Apology I Never Got is a conversation between two versions of myself, the me who is still struggling, angry and grieving the body I once had, and the me who has begun to accept this new reality.

It explores the complicated process of making peace with a body that has caused so much pain. The conversation isn’t about pretending everything is okay, or that acceptance means the pain disappears. It is about learning to meet the parts of myself that are still hurting with compassion, rather than anger or blame.

The apology I needed was never going to come from anyone else. I had to begin giving it to myself.
